REYKJAVIK, Iceland (TCM Newsroom) — Earlier this month TCM Brazil president Mr. Frauches Jefferson Viana was awarded the prestigious Personality of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Brazilian debt collection industry.

Voting for the annual award takes place nationally and is based on the calibre of candidates’ achievements measured across the year just gone and the span of a career. Candidates up for the award receive exposure through the Internet, social networks, and the Cliente SA Magazine.

In bestowing the award, the organizing committee recognized the high level of Mr. Viana’s participation in the Brazilian collection industry in 2014/2015. It was a year in which Viana gave numerous lectures around the country on the importance of a vigorous and regulated debt collection industry for the health of the domestic and global economy; managed the Institute of Management in Operational Excellence (IGEOC) and TCM Brazil (Way Back) with verve and professionalism; and received quality certifications from the Getulio Vargas Foundation and São Paulo University. It was also a year in which Viana’s clients gave resounding endorsements of the quality of his work.

“It is gratifying to be recognized in such a competitive and important market as Brazil. Working for more than 28 years in this segment has been extremely relevant, especially in terms of applying best practices in the credit and collection industry. I have no doubts that my involvement and partnership with TCM Group has contributed greatly to this achievement in my career,” said Mr. Viana in a statement issued not long after the award.

Mr. Viana holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of São Judas Tadeu, São Paulo. He is a founding member of the Latin American Association of Collection Companies (LatinCob) and is the Brazilian shareholder of TCM Group. He is currently president of the Institute of Management in Operational Excellence (IGEOC) and TCM Brazil (Way Back). The latter has been specializing in debt recovery and business process outsourcing since 1991.
