For our 2024 Charity Auction at the TCM Group’s Worlds Congress 2024 was dedicated to World of Children & CommonTerra
This year’s TCM charity auction took place at The Penthouse Restaurant offering panoramic ocean views of Santa Monica. Our charity auctions are now a tradition for our Group and an integral part of our Annual World Congresses where our meetings allowing our global members from different parts of the world to get together to discuss business and implement strategies for the year ahead, ensuring that we are the leading global debt recovery solution to our clients.
It is true that our congress revolves around the TCM Group business, however based on our commitment to social responsibility we dedicated one evening solely to our charity auction. Our host Amir and Denise Erez together with event organiser Rachel Moaddab from Cedar Financial / TCM USA introduced Lynn Naylor and Arwen Thiel from World of Children who personally thanked each partner who successfully bid on the items adding to the excitement of the evening.
Our auction was well supported by all partners who donated items brought from their home countries. The benefit to the successful bidders being that they take home memorable items to remind them of the great time spent in Santa Monica and a reminder of their contribution to an exceptional charity.
The success of the evening was enhanced by our auctioneers Amir Erez (TCM USA) and Pierre Haincourt (TCM UK) who encouraged all present to raise US$16 880 from our partners as they out-bid each other to take home their prized items. TCM Group pledging a further US$2,000, taking our overall donation to the World of Children / A leg to stand on to US$18 880.
We summarise the evening by quoting from Lynn and Arwen
“We simply can’t thank you enough for sharing the proceeds of your 2024 event with World of Children. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to attend the event and celebrate the generosity of your colleagues from all around the world.
For 26 years, World of Children has searched the globe to find people who deliver only the most effective and sustainable work to help vulnerable children. We only fund the best of the best work…and we have now shared more than $15M in programs serving children in 70 countries, including many countries that TCM Group does business in as well.
We are truly grateful that your Annual Charity Dinner so generously supported our work with A Leg To Stand On (ALTSO) to provide free surgery, prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation to children in need in the developing world. On behalf of ALTSO and its founder Mead Welles, we send our heartfelt appreciation.
As we shared at the event, each JOSHI lower limb prosthetic device used by ALTSO costs $250. It is made of strong material, yet it is lightweight enough to help even young children to be independently mobile. Specifically designed for use in low and medium income countries, your generous contribution of $18,880 will allow ALTSO to purchase 75 prosthetic devices, helping children to become mobile and go to school for the first time in their lives.
The prosthetic limbs underwritten by all of you will transform the lives of children living with a disability forever, breaking the cycle of poverty they were born into and giving them the opportunity to fearlessly pursue their dreams.
World of Children is thrilled to send every penny you raised on May 7, directly to A Leg To Stand On. World of Children’s generous family of founders at the Sholl-Freede Foundation underwrite all of our organization’s overhead expenses so we can share 100% of your contributions with children in need – something very few non-profits are able to promise and deliver.
It was wonderful and heartwarming to be with you last week and see your generous colleagues compete by out-bidding each other, ultimately doing so much good in this world! It was a special night to share with a wonderful international group of global thinkers and leaders.
Congratulations on your fabulously successful evening of charity for Cedar Financial and TCM Group!
We send special thanks to Rachel for our arrangements and for so kindly welcoming us.
With our heartfelt gratitude,
Lynn and Arwen”
