REYKJAVIK, Iceland (TCM Newsroom) — Our TCM Group’s 24th Annual World Congress and Annual General Meeting was held in the vibrant and colourful city of Seoul from 22nd April 2019 to 25th April 2019 and was hosted by our TCM member Ace Law Group / TCM South Korea.
Our hosts chose the centrally situated Koreana Hotel for the event which commenced with a welcome dinner held in the Diamond Room, which was a fitting start to the congress.
TCM members from all over the world joined us in Seoul, to participate in this meeting, being one of our highlights of the year as well as being a formal way for our members to meet and renew friendships as well as discussing business opportunities. During the congress we reviewed our past year’s achievements and looked forward to the new year’s objectives. We also elected our board of directors who will drive the group for the year ahead.
Our time in Seoul allowed gave us an opportunity to experience the culture and cuisine of South Korea with us enjoying walks amongst the street markets and food vendors who add to the vibe of the city. We tasted a wide variety of meals, beer and wines complemented by our warm and attentive hosts who made us feel totally at home in their city.
Our conference reviewed the years activities, including an update regarding our market leading TCM Guarantee Fund which will move into the second phase of its development, enhancements to our TCM platform in order to meet GDPR requirements, we reviewed the proposal for our TCM group library of references and a unique proposals to develop a platform for international remittances between TCM members. We also reviewed the co-operation agreements that we are forging with like-minded associations and global clients, all in all an exciting year ahead of us.
Our group’s objective will remain to create a one-stop shop for companies, organisations, and individuals who are in need of international credit management solutions and global commercial and consumer debt recovery services.
Our annual quality survey which sees our members ranking each other was presented and discussed with our top performing members being rewarded for their achievement. We also welcomed new members by presenting then with their TCM Group membership plaques.
Our group’s Vision remains “To be number 1 in global debt collection and recovery, to reverse the culture of tardy receivables payment in international trade.”
“Money knows no borders – neither do we” is synonymous with the TCM Group which is reinforced by our representation through our 39 Members who cover an additional 49 countries, 2 Associate Member, 74 Agents and 23 Service Providers placing us in a unique position to deliver fast, effective solutions to the complex challenges of global debt recovery – all on a ‘No Win, No Fee’ basis.
Our new members were presented with plaques confirming their membership to the TCM Group.
As has become customary at our annual congresses we continued with our social awareness programme, through our charity auction which was dedicated to raising funds for the Make -A-Wish Foundation, Korea. The evening was a great success with all our members out-bidding each other for the items on auction, resulting in us raising a record amount of US$29 055 for Foundation.
On the final day of the congress we visited the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the border between North and South Korea, and gain insight into Korean War history as well as visiting the 3rd Tunnel and the Dora Observatory deck
We look forward to our next World Congress which will be held in Brussels, Belgium from 12th May 2020 to 15th May 2020.
