Jefferson Frauches Viana, General Secretary - Regional Director Americas

Jefferson Frauches Viana’s career in the debt collection industry spans back to 1985 when he commenced as debt collection manager for a Swiss Pharmaceutical company Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1991 a government initiated change in Brazil’s economic landscape gave Jefferson the opportunity to establish his own debt collection business. He seized this opportunity with both hands, and founded Way Back (WB) in June 1991, a local collection agency based in Sao Paulo.

Since then the provision of high quality financial and credit recovery services has been a driving force behind WB’s evolution into a major national service provider, with branch offices now operating in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Campinas and Fortaleza.

Jefferson has orchestrated WB’s expansion with a highly considered and strategic approach to growing the capabilities of the business. Each of WB’s branches gives the capacity to meet client’s requirements anywhere throughout the country, providing experience and expertise in the areas of credit reporting, collections and resolution of related legal issues.

WB’s success in providing high quality services to the Brazil’s international trade community has seen Jefferson invited to assume Directorship of International Affairs for ASERC, a national association for credit recovery companies. WB is extremely proud to contribute to ASERC in this manner, as the role enables Jefferson to assert WB’s continual commitment to the Brazilian credit recovery market.

Keith R. John, Regional Director Asia - Pacific

Keith has a long and distinguished career in debt recovery having commenced his first agency service business in 1989. For several years it acted for two of the largest debt recovery agencies in Perth, together with dozens of law firms.
In 1991 Keith merged with a collections business where he became Director - Client Liaison before assuming the position of Managing Director in 1995. In the same year the business changed its name to Pioneer Credit Management Services to more accurately reflect the scope of the services it had grown to offer.

By early 2000 Pioneer Credit’s continued growth had seen it expand internationally to boast a second office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and become the largest commercial and local government focused debt recovery agency in Western Australia. In 2000 both offices were sold to RMG Limited, the first publicly listed debt recovery agency in Australia. After taking on an international role with the new company, a strategic change in direction of that business resulted in Keith taking a significant period of leave, prior to the re-establishment of Pioneer Credit Management Services in January 2003.

Under Keith’s direction, the fresh incarnation of Pioneer Credit has achieved tremendous success, including carefully implemented expansion into regional Western Australia and in Malaysia. Keith’s achievements have also lead to his inclusion on WA Business News’ 2006 ‘40under40’ listing, which recognises Western Australia’s most talented young business leaders, and today Pioneer Credit is consistently identified as a leading service provider nationally by prominent business media.
